Objectives

LEM Ethiopia inspired by the overall concepts of sustainable development, which zeros in achieving economic and social goals, has the following fundamental objectives. To enhance rational participation of the people in management & sustainable use of natural resources, Play leading role to encourage those individuals, groups & organizations that support for the conservation of natural resources & appropriate utilization of the resources to integrate their efforts.

Provide a forum for GOs & NGOs and other development practitioners to address timely critical issues of environment and development and sensitize individuals and the public on the principles of sustainable development.
To make a considerable effort towards avoiding negative impacts of technologies, products of technologies, chemicals and any other activities related to development and promote appropriate technologies specifically on energy & construction in rural & urban areas.
To encourage the integration of economic, social and policy development with natural resources conservation & sustainable development.

Give due support to the efforts focused on technologies, researches and systems that can improve abuse of resources.
To encourage the development of curriculum that can help in the awareness development on the interrelationship between natural resources & development and contribute to the capacity building effort the country is making in resource conservation and sustainable benefits.
