Conservation and livelihood security
Ethiopian Defense Forces Tree Planting Initiative by Lem Ethiopia Lem Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Defense Forces, has initiated a transformative tree planting program to promote conservation and livelihood security. This initiative addresses critical environmental issues like deforestation and soil erosion by involving military personnel and local communities in large-scale tree planting drives. By increasing forest cover, the program enhances biodiversity, sequesters carbon, and improves local climate conditions. Additionally, it boosts livelihood security by promoting sustainable agriculture and agroforestry, which provide additional sources of income and improve food security. This strategic partnership exemplifies how coordinated efforts can yield significant environmental and economic benefits, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and community resilience.
